To use the XP for Business Continuity Manager Software commands, you must assign a volume as a
command device for XP for Business Continuity Manager Software separately from a command device
used for the open system. The volume used as the command device for XP for Business Continuity
Manager Software can only be assigned by employing relevant XP for Business Continuity Manager
Software features.
If the backup batteries run out (become fully discharged) during a planned outage of your storage system,
you must reassign the volume being used as the command device.
The volume that you assign as the command device must be offline from the host.
