Installing Storage Mirroring Reporting
Center

The Storage Mirroring Reporting Center installation provides both server and client
reporting components. The server component provides the data collection and
monitoring engine and stores the collected information within a SQL Server
environment. The client component provides the configuration, graphical reporting, and
monitoring capabilities.

In order to install the Storage Mirroring Reporting Center Client on a server, you must
have already installed the Reporting Center Server on a machine that is accessible by
the client.

Before you install Storage Mirroring Reporting Center, ensure that you have a username
and password created that meet the permission requirements described in

Permissions

.

To install the Storage Mirroring Reporting Center Server, launch the installation wizard.
Follow the prompts to install Storage Mirroring Reporting Center.

In order for WMI to collect server information, DCOM must be turned on. The following
registry string value is used to enable or disable DCOM on all operating systems.
Changes will be applied after you restart the operating system.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE\EnableDCOM Y

Uninstalling Storage Mirroring Reporting Center

Use these instructions to uninstall an existing Storage Mirroring Reporting Center
installation.

1. Close any open applications.
2. Using the Windows Add/Remove Programs feature to uninstall Storage Mirroring

Reporting Center.

3. Any files created by the Microsoft Windows Installer during the Storage Mirroring

Reporting Center installation can be safely deleted after an uninstall.
