IMPORTANT:

If the user’s primary group in AD is not resolved to a GID number from either Active

Directory or LDAP, the user will be denied access to StoreAll.

Configuring NIS

If you plan to use NIS ID mapping when configuring authentication, you must first configure NIS
on each applicable StoreAll node. You will need the NIS server domain and IP address to complete
this configuration.

Complete the following steps on each StoreAll node:
1.

1. Run the setup command as root:

[root@ib14-1~] #setup

2.

Navigate to Authentication Conifguration.

3.

Select the Cache Information and Use NIS field. Click Next.

4.

In the Domain field, enter the NIS domain name.

5.

In the Server field, enter the NIS server IP address.

6.

After configuration completes, click Quit. The following status information displays:

NOTE: "[FAILED]" in the Stopping nscd field is normal.

Stopping portmap: [ OK ]

Starting portmap: [ OK ]

Binding to the NIS domain: [ OK ]

Listening for an NIS domain server.

Stopping nscd: [FAILED]

Starting nscd: [ OK ]
