Check the host that is running the Local Mirror Group.
Find out if indeed the task's destination virtual disk is
partial. Check the host’s connectivity with the storage
system as well as fabric zoning and LUN masking
configuration. Try to return the virtual disk’s status to
normal. Try to resume the group (see “
Resuming syn-
chronous mirror groups ” on page 305).
The mirror service cannot write to
the destination virtual disk of the
task, probably because the virtual
disk cannot be accessed (virtual
disk in Partial status).
Failed
Check VSM connectivity with the fabric, VSM servers,
storage system, as well as fabric zoning and LUN
masking. Try to return the task’s virtual disks to normal
status. Try to resume the group (see “
Resuming syn-
chronous mirror groups ” on page 305).
The status of the group to which the
task belongs is Partial or Failed or
the host that has permission to ac-
cess the group is Absent or Failed.

Normal
Try to fix any failed tasks. Once fixed, try to resync
the group (see “
Resynchronizing synchronous mirror
groups ” on page 305).
If you cannot fix the failed tasks, you can detach the
failed tasks. This returns the group status to normal
(see “
Detaching synchronous mirror
tasks ” on page 307).
One of the tasks is failing, but the
group remains functional because
it is running in Continue-on-Fail
mode and has tasks whose statuses
are normal.
Journal
Try to fix any failed tasks. Once fixed, try to resume
the group (see “
Detaching synchronous mirror
tasks ” on page 307).
If all tasks are not fixed, do either of the following:
• Change the group mode to Continue-on-Fail (see
“
Changing the synchronous local mirror group
mode ” on page 304). The group status changes to
Journal. The group is available and uses the tasks
that are normal. Follow the recovery procedure for
groups with status Journal.
• Detach the failed tasks to return the group’s status
to Normal (see “
Detaching synchronous mirror
tasks ” on page 307).
The group is paused because at
least one of the tasks is failing, and
the group is running in Always
Synchronized mode.
