Using Your Coffeemaker

1.

Plug in Coffeemaker and set Clock.
See “To Set the Clock and Program
Automatic Brew” on page 5.

2.

Before first use, wash Carafe. See
“To Clean the Coffeemaker Parts” on
page 7. Then run one full Carafe of
clean water through a complete cycle
by following steps 6 through 10.

3.

To make coffee, lift Cover to access

Filter Basket.
Move Shower
Head into a
position over
the Reservoir.
Place dispos-
able paper
filter in Filter
Basket. Use a
good quality

cupcake (basket) style filter, 8 to 12
cup size. A permanent filter may also
be used.

4.

For each cup of coffee being made,
place one level measuring tablespoon
of ground coffee into filter.

5.

After adding ground coffee into filter,
move Shower Head back into position
over Filter Basket.

How To Make Coffee

6.

Fill Carafe with the desired amount
of cold water, and pour into
Reservoir. Flip Cover down to close.
NOTE: If Shower Head is positioned
over Reservoir when Cover is closed,
it will automatically be swiveled into
position over Filter Basket when the
Cover is closed.

7.

Place Carafe with Carafe Lid
attached on Keep-Hot Plate.

8.

Press ON/OFF button once to

turn the
Coffeemaker
on. The button
will glow red
when in use.

9.

When finished, press the ON/OFF
button once and unplug.

10.

If storing Coffeemaker, the Cord can
be pushed into a special cord storage
area in the back of the unit.
NOTE: If the Coffeemaker is not
turned off manually, it will automati-
cally shut off in two hours.

CAUTION

Overflowing coffee and hot water are a burn hazard. To avoid overflows of the Filter Basket
or Pause ‘N Serve:
• Use one level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Excessive amounts of coffee grinds

will clog the Filter Basket.

• Do not grind coffee too finely. This will clog the filter.
• Use a good quality “cupcake” or basket-style filter. The sides of the filter should be

upright against the sides of the Filter Basket to avoid filter collapsing. Paper filters are
less likely to clog than permanent filters.

• Return Carafe to the Keep-Hot Plate within 20 seconds if you are using the Pause ‘N Serve

feature. Hot water continues to flow into the Filter Basket when this feature is used and it
may overflow unless carafe is returned within 20 seconds.

• Make sure Carafe is fully seated on the Keep-Hot Plate.
