iris

• Try and adjust the camera iris until a clear image

The video image is
correctly displayed,

• Error in text setting

• Check the identification text menu to see if there is

actually a text setting for the input on screen.

The identification
texts are displayed
too high or too low

• Error in video code

configuration

• Enter the menu to check the video code setting:

PAL or NTSC. If the PAL system is used, an error
setting in NTSC will shift the identification texts.
Vice versa, if an NTSC system is used, an error
setting in PAL will cause the identification texts to
be lowered.

During OSM
programming the lines
are compressed and
half the screen
appears distorted.

• Error in OSM Video

setting

• Some types of monitor have problems with non-

interlaced video signals. Set Interlaced: YES. In
any case this setting has no effect during normal
matrix operation.

• Make sure the Type of alarm is not: Not Used (set

the alarm to N.O. or N.C.)

there is an alarm, the alarm pin closes with the
common alarm pin. And for the alarm N.C. setting,
make sure that the alarm causes the common
alarm and specific alarm pins to open.

The keyboard does
not reset the alarms

• The alarm contact setting

cannot be reset by the
keyboard.

• Change the alarm or alarm settings in question by

entering the menu item: Reset / Keyboard: YES.

There is no buzzer
when the alarm
triggers

• Alarm buzzer disabled

• Go to the Alarms menu and modify each individual

alarm that is to trigger the Buzzer (item Enable
Buzzer: YES). The same holds for the alarm relay
(item Enable relay: YES).

The SM42A / SM82A matrix requires no particular maintenance. We recommend its use on a solid base,

with the power supply and connection cables arranged so as not to get in the way of the operator.
