1. The Ignitor is designed for 12-Volt negative ground systems.
2. Leaving the ignition “ON” with the engine “OFF” for an extended period could result in permanent damage to

the Ignitor.

3. See Chart on back page for coil recommendations.
4. Four & Six cylinder engines require a minimum of 3.0 ohms of primary resistance. Do not remove resistors if

the coil primary resistance is less than 3.0 ohms.

5. If your Ignition coil has the recommended primary resistance, remove or bypass all external resistors.
6. The Ignitor is compatible as a trigger for most electronic boxes.

DISASSEMBLY
1. PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TURN IGNITION SWITCH OFF OR DISCONNECT THE BATTERY
2. Remove the distributor cap, and rotor. Do not disconnect spark plug wires. Examine cap and rotor for wear

or damage. Replace as needed.

3. Disconnect the distributor from the factory ignition module.
4. Remove the distributor from the engine.
5. Remove the drive gear from the shaft.
6. Pull the rotor, advance mechanism and distributor shaft out of the distributor.
7. Remove the factory electronic pickup coil and magnet from the distributor housing.
8. Clean all dirt and excess oil from the distributor housing.

IGNITOR INSTALLATION
1. Install the Ignitor II plate into the distributor housing and fasten it in place.
2. Install the magnet sleeve onto the distributor shaft with the locking tabs pointing up. Slide the magnet sleeve

all the way up until the locking tabs are positioned over the reluctor. See Figure 1.

3. Place the grommet into the slot in the distributor housing. Pull the excess wire out and insure wires do not

interfere with moving parts.

4. Re-install the distributor into the engine.
5. Re-install the rotor and cap. Make sure all spark plug wires are securely attached.

Warning!

DO NOT USE

WITH SOLID CORE SPARK PLUG WIRES.
