1. The Ignitor is designed for 12-Volt negative ground systems.
2. Leaving the ignition “ON” with the engine “OFF” for an extended period could result in permanent damage to

the Ignitor.

3. See Chart on back page for coil recommendations.
4. Four & Six cylinder engines require a minimum of 3.0 ohms of primary resistance. Do not remove resistors if

the coil primary resistance is less than 3.0 ohms.

5. If your Ignition coil has the recommended primary resistance, remove or bypass all external resistors.
6. The Ignitor is compatible as a trigger for most electronic boxes.

DISASSEMBLY
1. PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TURN IGNITION SWITCH OFF OR DISCONNECT THE BATTERY
2. Remove distributor cap and rotor from distributor. Do not disconnect spark plug wires from cap. Examine cap

and rotor for wear or damage. Replace as needed.

3. Remove the point wire from the negative (-) terminal of the Ignition coil. Loosen the two screws that attach

the coil bracket.

4. Remove the two screws and springs that hold the points plate in the distributor. Lift the complete plate out of

the distributor. Installing the Ignitor does not alter the internal configuration of your distributor. Therefore, the
points, condenser and hardware can be used as backup.

5. Clean all dirt and excess oil from the point cam.

IGNITOR INSTALLATION
1. Place the Ignitor adapter plate into the distributor. In some cases the new plate may need to be trimmed in

the area shown in figure 1 to permit installation. If trimming is necessary, use a file to remove material. A
snug fit is better than one that is too loose.

2. Use the original screws and spring clips to fasten the Ignitor plate into the distributor housing.
3. Install magnet sleeve over distributor shaft and onto point cam. Rotate sleeve until a slight locating position

is felt before applying pressure. With sleeve lined up on point cam, press down firmly insuring sleeve is fully
seated.

4. Module and magnet sleeve air gap is not adjustable.
5. Run the module wires between the coil bracket and to each coil terminal.
6. Tighten the wires down and the coil bracket back in place. Make sure the Ignitor wires are not contacting any

moving parts.

7. See Wiring Instructions.
