Note

Compatible Lenses

CPU lenses are recommended for use in the D1. D-Type lenses are
particularly recommended, as you will have access to the complete range of
camera functions only when a D-Type lens is attached. The following lenses
can be used with the D1.

When using a lens without a built-in CPU:
Choose center-weighted or spot metering, and an exposure mode of aperture-priority
auto or manual. When an exposure mode of programmed auto or shutter-priority auto
is selected, the camera will automatically be set to aperture-priority auto with center-
weighted metering, and the exposure-mode indicator (P or S) in the control panel on
top of the camera will blink (the viewfinder display will show A). Regardless of the
exposure mode, aperture can only be set using the lens aperture ring; turning the sub-
command dial has no effect. F-- will appear in the aperture indicators in the viewfinder
and the control panel on top of the camera.
