Maintenance information

Follow the procedure below.
Provide the equipment and protec-
tive clothing listed.
– Compressed air gun 5÷7 bar
– industrial type vacuum cleaner or

dust collection device

– individual safety devices (gloves,

goggles, face mask)

1- Turn off the engine and remove

the ignition key.

2- Let the engine cool down ade-

quately to avoid being burnt.

Warning - Caution

It is compulsory to wear all the in-
dividual safety devices foreseen
for protection of the hands from
contact with harmful substances
(gloves), the respiratory tract
(protective face masks) and the eyes
(goggles).

3- Disconnect the gas inlet and exhaust

pipes from the filter.

4- Before removing the filter , mark the side

connecting to the manifold (gas inlet), so
that it is replaced in the opposite position
to the one in which it was originally fitted.

5- Loosen the clamps (A) and remove the

centre body of the filter.

6- Connect the vacuum cleaner to the filter

gas inlet area.

7 -Blow air (5 - 7 bar) from the opposite

side into the filter for approximately
30÷40 minutes.

Important

Move the compressed air gun slowly, di-
recting it into each cell of the filter to
clean it thoroughly. Keep a distance of
10 cm between the jet of air and the sur-
face of the filter.
Do not clean the filter with steam and/or
other detergents. The use of these prod-

ucts may damage and/or deteriorate the
filter.

Warning - Caution

Do not throw away any polluting material
in the environment. Carry out their dis-
posal in compliance with the relevant
legislation in force.

8 -Remove and replace the clamps (A) with

new original spare parts.

Important

When requesting any components for
the antiparticulate filter, always contact
your nearest VM MOTORI workshop or
Dinex distributor. When ordering, provi-
de the details indicated on the identifica-
tion plate affixed to the filter.

9 -Fit the filter in the opposite direction to its

original position. The side marked as
above must be connected to the exhaust
pipe.

10-Tighten the clamps to a torque of 30 Nm.
