Notice For Adding Memory
Please read the following information for two corrections regarding memory modules installed in your VAIO® notebook (PCG-
FX290/FX290K). This document replaces specific information in the “Adding Memory” section of the online VAIO® Notebook
User Manual that came with your notebook.
1. The following information replaces the first paragraph of the “Adding Memory” section:
In the future, you may want to install memory modules to expand the functionality of your notebook. The amount of
memory pre-installed is 256 MB, utilizing both memory module bays (128 x 2). You can increase memory up to 512 MB
(256 MB x 2) by installing optional memory modules (256 MB) in the memory module bays. For memory upgrades, use
only PC100 (CL2) SDRAM SO-DIMM (gold lead contacts). See the table below for typical expansion memory
configuration.
2. The following information replaces the “Typical expansion memory configuration” table:
