You do not know if the OS of your computer is compatible with the camera.

Check “Recommended computer environment” on page 49 for Windows, and page 62 for
Macintosh.

Your computer does not recognize your camera.

Turn on the camera.

When the battery level is low, install new batteries or charged Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries
(not supplied), or use the AC Adaptor (not supplied).

Use the supplied USB cable (supplied) (page 52).

Disconnect the USB cable, and connect it again firmly. Make sure that “USB Mode Mass
Storage” is displayed (page 52).

Set [USB Connect] to [Mass Storage] in the

(Setup) menu (page 46).

Disconnect all equipment other than the camera, the keyboard and the mouse from the USB
jacks of your computer.

Connect the camera directly to your computer without passing through a USB hub or other
device (page 52).

You cannot copy images.

Connect the camera and your computer correctly. Make the USB connection by properly
connecting the camera with your computer (page 52).

Follow the designated copy procedure for your OS (pages 52, 62).

When you shoot images with a “Memory Stick Duo” formatted by a computer, you may not
be able to copy the images to a computer. Shoot using a “Memory Stick Duo” formatted by
your camera (page 43).

After making a USB connection, “Cyber-shot Viewer” does not start
automatically.

Start “Media Check Tool” (page 58).

Make the USB connection after the computer is turned on (page 52).

The image cannot be played back on a computer.

If you are using “Cyber-shot Viewer,” refer to the Help.

Consult the computer or software manufacturer.

The image and sound are interrupted by noise when you view a movie on a
computer.

You are playing back the movie directly from the internal memory or the “Memory Stick
Duo”. Copy the movie to the hard disk of your computer, then play back the movie from the
hard disk (page 51).
