Preparation for Network Operation
Setting other preferences
You can access the Internet with your camcorder using the default settings explained on
previous pages. It is not necessary to make the following settings, however, see the
following when any changes are necessary in the future.
(1) Open the Network Menu and tap [Setup].
The Setup screen appears.
(2) Tap [Network Options].
The Network Options screen appears.

(3) Set the following items:
Verify Password: Check this item to delete your DI Customer Setup password,
“AOL” password, and PPP screen password. You will have to enter your
provider access password each time you access the Internet, for example,
when you use a dial-up connection to prevent anyone else from connecting
with your ID.
Note
If this item is checked, you cannot set the following passwords:
– Password for DI Customer Setup (when using “So-net”)
– Password for AOL Network Setup (when using “AOL”)
– Password for the PPP screen (when using other providers)
Time Out: Select whether the connection is to be automatically canceled if no
communication is made for a specified time (1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes,
15 minutes, or 30 minutes) (When you use a LAN connection, the connection
is not disconnected automatically.).
Note
When you use a dial-up connection, the telephone line may not be
disconnected automatically when viewing certain web pages. In this case,
disconnect the telephone line manually (p. 81, 119).
