What’s next for Sony OLED?

It begins with XEL-1: the industry’s first Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED)
television. And the possibilities of this revolutionary new technology will
have the whole world watching.
Desktop Monitors, Medical Imagers, Heads-up Displays and larger screen
sizes are all under development. Thinner substrates, which make possible
even thinner screens – so thin, they can be flexible.
We’re working on a new OLED application called Organic Thin Film Transfer

(OTFT). Sprayed on a flexible plastic sheet, the OTFT layer can display a
high-quality color image even when the sheet is bent – so a television
picture can be displayed on a curved surface.
