Hardware Self Test
9 Hardware Self Test
The self test program can be used to test aspects of operator panel functionality
and the communication ports. To run the test you will need:
• Test plugs, including two Ethernet test plugs; see Test plug drawing .
• 24 V DC, min. 3 A.
• SD card
Follow the steps below to run the self test program on the operator panel:
1. Power off the operator panel.
2. Go to the self test. Set the mode switches to the self test positions, see the table
in the Mode Switches section.
3. Power on the operator panel and follow the instructions at the bottom of the
display.
4. When using the test plugs, make sure the +5 V DC LED on the RS422 test
plug and the LED of the RS232 test plug are on.
5. When the self test is finished, power off the operator panel and set all mode
switches to the OFF position.
If an error occurs during the self test, try to fault trace. See Fault Tracing .
