Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all

its features and functions

• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If

any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool

Operating Instructions

Warning:

Never fit any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the

no load speed of the machine.

Fitting a drill bit

1. Open the Chuck (1) jaws by rotating the front chuck ring clockwise
2. The drill bit can then be placed into the chuck
3. Tighten the chuck jaws by rotating the front chuck ring anti-clockwise

NOTE: Do not run the drill whilst tightening or releasing the chuck

4. When the drill bit is held tightly, test that it is central by running the

drill. The drill bit should rotate smoothly with no 'wobble'. If the drill bit
is not central, release the chuck, and retighten

Direction control

• The direction of rotation can be set using the Reverse Switch (4)
• To make the drill rotate anti-clockwise, push the reverse switch to the

right

• To make the drill rotate clockwise, push the reverse switch to the left
• When the reverse switch is in the central position, the drill is locked
• Do not attempt to move the reverse switch when the drill is running

Switching on

• To start the drill, squeeze the Trigger Switch (5)
• The speed of the drill is controlled by the movement of the trigger, the

further the trigger is depressed, the faster the drill will run

Gear selection

• This drill is equipped with a 2 speed gearbox. The lower gear provides

speeds between 0-350rpm with a high torque. The higher gear provides
speeds between 0-1150rpm with reduced torque

• For jobs that do not require speeds above 350rpm, use low gear. This will

reduce the load on the motor

• To select a gear, slide the Gear Selector (3) to the appropriate position
• Do not attempt to move the gear selector when the drill is running

Torque control

• This drill is fitted with a Torque Control Clutch (2). This limits the torque

output of the drill, enabling screws to be driven without the risk of
damage

• The clutch settings are indicated by the symbols on the clutch ring
• Rotate the clutch ring to select the correct torque
• For drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the drill symbol. This will lock the

clutch for maximum torque

• For hammer drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the hammer symbol. This

will engage the hammer function

Checking battery level

• This drill is fitted with a Battery Level Indicator (7)
• To check the charge remaining in the battery, press the button below

the indicator

• The battery charge level will be displayed on the LCD screen

Charging the battery

NOTE: Ensure the battery is fully discharged before charging. Charge the
battery at room temperature (approx 20°C)

1. Insert Battery Charger (8) plug into power supply
2. Switch on power supply. The green (POWER) indicator light will

illuminate

3. Insert battery into charger. The red charge indicator light will

illuminate:
- Light flashing slowly: the battery is charging
- Light is solid red: the battery is fully charged
- Light flashes quickly: the battery will not hold a charge. Replace the
battery

4. After charging, allow 15 minutes for the battery to cool before use
5. Disconnect charger from the power supply and store in a clean, dry

environment out of the reach of children

6. Do not leave batteries on charge for extended periods and do not store

batteries on charge

IMPORTANT: Failure to follow the correct charging procedure may result in
permanent damage to the batteries

Maintenance

WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before
carrying out any maintenance/cleaning.

Cleaning

• Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal

parts to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the
body of your machine with a soft brush or dry cloth. If available, use
clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes

Brushes

• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn.

Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure,
or visible sparking

• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an

authorised service centre

Storage

• Store this tool and accessories in a dry, secure place out of the reach

of children

Disposal

• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic

equipment, with household waste

• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct

way to dispose of tools
