5.3 Interconnecting the Bilingual Backward Compatible Ports to
1394a Devices
The
648 is also compatible with the IEEE 1394a-2000 standard ports. These
ports are still present in many devices and can be connected with a maximum
cable length of 4.5 meters (about 15 feet). Connecting an IEEE 1394a-2000
standard port to the bilingual connector on the
648, lets you extend the
distance between such devices.
