Camera/Computer Communications

Problem

The computer
cannot
communicate
with the
camera.

There is a problem with
the configuration of the
USB port on the
computer.

Turn on the camera (

Battery is not charged.

Recharge the battery (

Some Advanced Power
Management utilities on
laptops turn off ports to
save battery life.

See the Power Management section
of the laptop user’s guide to disable
this feature.

USB cable is not
securely connected.

Connect cable to camera and
computer port (

page 61

).

Software is not installed. Install the software

(

page 57

).

Software is installed
incorrectly.

Disconnect the USB cable. Close all
open applications. Uninstall, then
re-install the software (

page 57

).

To uninstall, go to Start/Settings/
Control Panel/Add/Remove
Programs.

Too many applications
are running on the
computer.

Disconnect camera from the
computer. Close all software
applications, reconnect camera.

The Battery Monitor or
similar software runs
constantly.

Close that software before starting
the Kodak software.
