Camera/computer communications
Camera does not
recognize SD card. ■ Purchase a certified SD/SDHC card. (MMC and write-once SD cards are
not supported.)
■ Reformat the card ( see page 34 ).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
■ Insert a card into the slot, then push to seat (see page 4 ).
Camera freezes up
when a card is
inserted or
removed. ■ Turn the camera off, then back on.
■ Make sure the camera is turned off before inserting or removing a
card.
Memory card full. ■ Insert a new card (see page 4 ), transfer pictures to the computer (see
page 45 ), or delete pictures (see page 17 ).
Memory card and
internal memory
full. ■ Transfer pictures to the computer (see page 45 ), then format the card
or internal memory ( see page 34 ).

The computer does
not communicate
with the camera. ■ Turn on the camera (see page 3 ).
■ Make sure the battery is fully charged (see page 2 ).
■ Connect the USB cable to camera and computer port (see page 45 ).
■ Install the software (see page 44 ).
■ Disconnect the USB cable. Close all software applications. Re-install
the software (see
page 44 ).
■ Disconnect camera from the computer. Close all software applications,
reconnect camera.
