Generating an RSA SecurID tokencode

When the ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software has been provisioned with an RSA SecurID software token, you
will be able to generate an RSA SecurID tokencode from a biometric reader embedded in the computer or
keyboard.

To generate an RSA SecurID tokencode, do the following:

1. Click Start ThinkVantage Tokencodes Generator.

2. The Swipe finger window is displayed to ask you to swipe your fingerprint.

3. Swipe your fingerprint to authenticate your account.

4. Select the token you want to use from the drop-down list box. If you have just one token, the tokencode

will be generated automatically.

Note: A window will be displayed indicating the valid duration of the generated tokencode. The
tokencode is time-based and it expires after a certain period of time (typically one minute). If this is a
pinless token, then the tokencode can be copied, pasted or entered directly into any application dialogs.

5. If this is a pinful token, select Use PIN, enter your PIN, and click OK. You can also select Remember

the PIN to have your pin entered automatically.

6. The Tokencode filed will display the RSA SecurID tokencode that can be used for authenticating the

systems and applications protected by the RSA SecurID software token. If you are prompted to enter
the Next Token mode, select Next to generate another tokencode.

Authenticating the RSA SecurID-protected applications

The following example shows how to use the RSA SecurID tokencode generated by the ThinkVantage
Fingerprint Software to authenticate the RSA SecurID-protected applications.

1. Launch a Web-based application that is protected by the RSA SecurID software token, and the RSA

SecurID login window is displayed.

2. Click Start ThinkVantage Tokencodes Generator, and swipe your fingerprint to authenticate

your account.

3. Select the RSA SecurID software token that protects the application. If this is a pinful token, select

User PIN, and enter the pin.

4. Click Copy to copy the automatically generated tokencode.

5. Enter the user name in the User ID field, and paste the tokencode you just copied in the Passcode filed.

6. Click Login to start the authentication process.

Using the ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software with RSA SecurID Ready
VPN clients

The Thinkvantage Fingerprint Software can be used with a number of RSA SecurID Ready VPN clients that
have the RSA SecurID software token to provide enhanced usability. In this case, you are only required to
enter the PIN for the RSA SecurID software token, and swipe your fingerprint to authorize the release of a
tokencode to the VPN client. Then the VPN client can be successfully connected.

Before enabling the RSA SecurID Ready VPN clients, you need to install and configure the Checkpoint
SecuRemote program as follows:

1. Download the Checkpoint SecuRemote program at:

https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal/user/anon/page/default.psml/
media-type/html?action=portlets.DCFileAction&eventSubmit_doGetdcdetails=&fileid=10625,
and install
the program when the download process completes.
