2.4 Basic scan operation
This section contains information on transmissions and storage of data scanned by this machine.
Scan data transmissions/storage
A document scanned by this machine can be transmitted or stored as colored data file. There are types below
for transmissions and storage of data.
- Scan to E-mail: The scan data is sent as an attachment to an e-mail message.
- FTP TX: The scan data is sent to an FTP server.
- SMB TX: The scan data is sent to a shared folder on a computer on the network.
- WebDAV TX: The scan data is sent to the WebDAV server.
- Web Service Function: It is possible to issue a scan command from a computer on the network or to
perform scanning according to the purpose from the machine and to send the scanned data to the
computer. It is available for using Windows Vista/ 7/ Server 2008/ Server 2008R2.
- Store to a hard disk: The scan data is stored to the hard disk of this machine.
- Store to a USB memory: The scan data is stored to a USB memory connected to this machine.
2.4.1 Scan to E-mail

Change the mode.
% Press [Scan to E-mail] or press the [E-mail] key to display the initial Scan to E-mail screen.
% If a screen for entering the user name/account and password appears, type in the necessary infor-
mation, and then press [Login] or press the [Access] key. For details, refer to chapter 4 of the [User’s
Guide Copy Operations].
