What happens when HDD Format is executed?

Executing HDD Format erases data in the HDD. It is recommended
that important data be saved in a backup medium in advance. Ex-
ecution of HDD Format will also reset the setting values of different
functions to the default values. Set the Enhanced Security mode to
[ON] again. For the functions whose settings are reset to the default
values, see “Items cleared by HDD Format” on page 2-11.

Make sure that a message appears prompting you to turn OFF and
then ON the main power switch. Now, turn OFF and then turn ON the
main power switch.

What is the difference between Encryption Priority and Overwrite
Priority?

[Encryption Priority] refers to writing of data in HDD with an en-
hanced encryption strength. It is recommended that [Encryption
Priority] be selected to achieve a greater effect of encryption.

[Overwrite Priority] refers to writing of data in HDD through the stan-
dard encryption technique.

[Encryption Priority] is the default setting.
