Have you ever looked inside a camera? The amount of dust collected would startle you.
That’s because – prior to the E-series – dust entered from daily use, especially when lenses
were changed. The result was a spot or two on each photo, cast by “dust shadows” from the
imager’s pixels. It was unavoidable and unsightly, until now.

Our exclusive dust-reduction technology brings you spot-free photos, automatically. Each
time the camera is turned on, our Super Sonic Wave Filter™ shakes up the digital world as
we know it, by shaking dust and debris loose from the image sensor – and capturing it, to
prevent its reappearance. Situated between shutter and CCD, it vibrates over 35,000 times
a second. As a result, dust particles cannot block light – ensuring unblemished pictures,
with each press of the shutter button.
With the E-500’s Dust Reduction System, changing lenses in the field (or in your family
