Introduction

Utilities and Applications

This section describes the pre-installed utilities that come with the

computer and details how to start them. For further information on their

operation, please refer to each utility's online manual, help files or

README.TXT file.

Options

You can add a number of options to make your computer even more

powerful and convenient to use. The following options are available:

TOSHIBA ConfigFree TOSHIBA ConfigFree is a suite of utilities that

improve the ease and control of communication

devices and network connections, help in the

identification of communication problems and

allow the creation of profiles if you need to switch

between different locations and communication

networks. To access this utility, click Start 

All Programs  TOSHIBA  ConfigFree.

TOSHIBA Disc

Creator

You can create CD's and DVD's in a number of

formats including audio CD's that can be played

on a standard CD player, and data CD's/DVD's

which can store copies of the files and folders on

your computer's hard disk drive. This software

can be used on models with a DVD Super Multi

drive.
To start this utility, click Start  All Programs 

TOSHIBA  CD&DVD Applications  Disc

Creator.

TOSHIBA SD Memory

Card Format

This utility allows you to format an SD/SDHC

memory card by the SD standard format.

TOSHIBA eco Utility

TOSHIBA eco Utility helps you monitor your

power savings by showing approximate real time

power consumption. Furthermore, it shows

approximate accumulated power consumption

and approximate accumulated power savings

when using eco mode daily, weekly, and monthly.

You can track power savings by using eco mode

continuously.

Memory kit

1GB or 2GB memory module (PC2-4200 or

compatible) can easily be installed in the

computer.

Battery Pack

An additional battery pack can be purchased for

use as either a spare or replacement. Please

refer to Chapter 6,

Power and Power-up Modes

for futher information.
