2 Getting Started
2.1 Before Use
2.1.1 Network Setup
Do not connect the device directly to your computer but to a network switch or router on the same
local network as the computer that is used to access the data.
Note
To make use of all the functions and features (e.g. remote access and web portal), make sure
the device is connected to a network with internet access.
2.1.2 Hard Drive Setup
In order to use all the features and functionalities of this device, a partition has to be mounted as
HOME. In general, the internal hard drive has been set up accordingly but if not, you have to set
up a drive first, before you can properly use this device.
1. Login and go to the disk manager.
2. Select a partition of your drive (e.g. USB drive).
3. Click
Mount Partition.
4. Select "Mount as HOME" and click Mount.
