3.8 Reference In and Out
The internal reference of the signal generator can be locked to an external frequency reference that is
provided to the external reference input on the rear panel. To enable phase lock to the external
reference go to the REFERENCE tab (
).
Click Use ext. reference and enter the frequency of the reference that has been externally applied.
The reference frequency must be specified within the frequency range and accurately set to at least 1
ppm. Note that the reference lock will fail if the frequency of the external reference is not accurately
provided.
The lock status is shown as Locked (green) or Not Locked (red).
3.8.1
Bypass internal 100 MHz reference
Some instruments provide the option to bypass (disable) the internal reference and feed an external
100 MHz reference. To enable that operation mode select “External 100 MHz”.
