5. We recommend presetting the length of the lower control arm. For 3” lift, we

recommend a length of 19” measured from center to center of the bushings. This
length is a good starting point when using the stock length upper control arms. The
final length should be adjusted to get the correct amount of caster. Approximately 3-5
degrees is the factory spec. We suggest shooting on the higher end of the range for
improved straight line tracking and vehicle return to center.

 NOTE – The max safe working length of these control arms is

20.125” Any longer and the pinch bolt will not effectively clamp
on the Johnny Joint shank.

6. Once satisfied with caster setting, tighten the ½-20 UNF pinch bolts to 50 ft-lbs.
7. Tighten the factory control arm bolts to the following specs, depending on size.

(Note, do not torque until vehicle is sitting at ride height)

 14mm (9/16” bolts) – 125 ft-lbs
 16mm (5/8” bolts) – 145 ft-lbs
 18mm (3/4” bolts) – 200 ft-lbs
