Error message
Any malfunctions during operation will be identifi ed by an error message on the display (D), see fi g. 5.
Proceed as follows in such cases:

Switch off device using the main switch (B)
 Carry out corrective measures
 Restart device
Error message Cause Effect Correction
E 2 - In remote operation (PC), no communication Heating off - Switch off the device
between RV 10 and HB 10 - Clean the IR interface or
- IR connection to RV 10 disconnected remove objects from around the IR
interface
- Switch on the device
E 3 - Temperature inside the device is too high Heating off - Switch off the device
- Let the device cool down
- Switch on the device
E 9 - Fault in storing the safety circuit set Heating off - Switch off the device
temperatures - Let the device cool down
- Memory chip (EPROM) defective - Switch on the device
E 21 - Safety relay does not open Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
E 23 - Adjustable safety circuit defective Heating off - Switch off the device
- Let the device cool down
- Switch on the device
E 24 - Set safety temperature exceeded Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
- Let the device cool down
- Switch on the device
- Check the safety temperature
setting
E 25 - The heater control circuit switch (TRIAC) is Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
faulty. The heater or the supply line is
disconnected.
E 26 - Dry running Heating off - Let the device cool down
- Fill up the tempering medium
- Switch off the device and switch on again
E 27 - Error in calibration Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
E 28 - Breakage of the controller sensor Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
E 29 - Short-circuit in the safety sensor Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
E 30 - Short-circuit in the controller sensor Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
E 31 - Breakage of the safety sensor Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
E 32 - Temperature deviation is too big Heating off - Switch off the device and switch on again
If the actions described fail to resolve the fault or another error code is displayed then take one of the following steps:
- contact the IKA
® service department,
- send the device for repair, including a short description of the fault.
