Linking consoles – Single CAT5 cable
Consoles can be linked for FOH/Monitor operation to share one set of
mic preamps and to transport signals between them. Dante allows up to
64 channels of audio in each direction connected using a CAT5 cable up
to 100m (330’) long. This example shows two iLive systems linked.
Linking consoles – Two CAT5 cables
This example shows two iLive systems linked using two CAT5 cables,
one as a
redundant backup . If one cable becomes damaged or
unplugged the other automatically takes over without any interruption to
the audio.
Connect to the Primary
Port at each end.
Use Dante Controller to
check that the Dante
card is set for
Redundant Mode.
Connect one cable using
the Primary Port at each
end, and the other cable
using the Secondary
Port at each end.
