Caution:

Read and understand these instructions completely before proceeding.

Caution:

Disconnect unit from electric supply before initial Lamping, Relamping, or Servicing
for any reason.

Caution:

Always wear safety goggles and gloves when servicing this equipment.

Caution:

If the unit is hot, allow cooling for a minimum of 20 minutes before servicing.

Caution:

Do NOT touch glass portion of lamp with bare hands. Agents such as sodium,
grease, or oil from your fingers may be transferred to the glass. These contaminants
can cause the lamp to rupture, or can greatly reduce performance and life of the
lamp. In case of contamination, immediately clean the glass with a soft, lint free cloth
soaked in isopropyl alcohol, and then dry the glass with a similar cloth.

Caution:

Use only recommended lamps. Do not touch the glass envelope with bare hands,
use a clean soft cloth. For the ODC 150-watt lamps are NOT interchangeable with
70-watt lamps, and vice versa.

Caution:

This unit is only suitable for wet/damp locations while intact. All servicing must be
preformed in a dry location.

Installing the Lamp

Position the unit on a work surface so that the lens is facing up. Release the three stainless steel
latches and separate the front and rear castings. It may be necessary to pry the castings apart with a
straight blade screwdriver due to the quality of the gasket. Be careful not to damage the silicone
gasket.

Having exposed the socket, grasp the lamp with a protective wrap, and insert the two pins into the
socket contacts. Do NOT touch the glass of the lamp with bare hands.

The two springs (one on each side of the socket) should hold the lamp. If the lamp is not held firmly
enough, remove the lamp, press the two springs together to increase the pressure, and then re-install
the lamp.

Now that the lamp is in place, very carefully align the reflector with the lamp. Mount the front casting
on the rear casting. Securely fasten the three latches to insure that the gasket is compressed.

Changing/Replacing the Front Lens

Position the unit on a work surface so that the lens is facing up.

Loosen the three machine screws that hold the front lens retainer until they are disengaged from the
threads in the front casting. Do NOT remove the screws. Each screw passes through a rubber
washer for additional gasketing. By not removing the screws from the front lens retainer, the washers
will remain with the screws and not be accidentally misplaced.

Remove the front lens retainer from the casting. Change or replace the lens, being careful not to
damage the silicone gasket, and reassemble the parts in the reverse order – being careful to align the
machine screws with the threads in the casting.
