3.4 Pre-Run Conditions
1. Attach safety cover and connect power cords to DC power supply.
3. Pre-Run gels with sample applicators in place for 60 minutes at 120V
4. After Pre-Run has finished
TURN OFF POWER SUPPLY and Buffer Recycler.
3.5 Sample Preparation & loading Conditions
1. Prepare samples as per ref. 1,2,3.
2. Remove safety cover.
3. Using Hamilton Syringe load 10µl sample with controls into sample applicator
wells. Sample applicators remain in place during electrophoresis.
4. Attach safety cover and resume buffer cycling.
3.5 Running Conditions
1. Refer to references 1, 2 and 3 for general theory of electrophoresis conditions.
For LDL and HDL:
15V for 15 minutes
70V for 20 minutes
125V for 24hours (3000V/H)
3.6 Removing the Gel
1. Turn the power supply off and disconnect the leads from the power supply.
Remove the safety cover from the unit, by
placing thumbs on white posts next to red &
black connectors, then pushing down while
pulling up with fingers under lid.
Do not remove safety cover by pulling up
on leads!
2) After run, remove gel cassettes from grey
gasket by pushing from top until cas-
sette ejects through
bottom of gasket as
shown at right.
3) Remove gels from cassettes and process
according to references 1, 2 or 3.
3.7 End of Run Maintenance (see also Section 5)
1. Rinse buffer pump and sample applicators with H
2
O.
