6. Position the duckhead
®
near the rim and apply a
lot of lubrication.
7. The area to lubricate is the shoulder just adjacent
to the the drop center on the top side.
8. Before inserting the bead lift tool for top bead
removal, make sure the valve is positioned as shown.
This eases the effort to pull the bead up and over the rim.
9. Lubricate the lift tool and insert the end between
the tire bead and rim; apply downward force to engage
the tire bead.
10. As the bead is pulled up and over the duckhead
and onto the rim, assure the bead opposite the duck-
head is in the drop center. Use a tool or helper arm as
shown.
11. Once the top bead is in position over the duck-
head for removal, you may remove the lift bar to
reduce stresses in the tire. Proceed with removal by
jogging rotation to prevent damage.
12. To remove the second bead, use a second per-
son to hold up the opposite side bead in the wheel’s
drop center or use Robo Arm to assist.
