Changing Resource Settings with Device Manager


The 232PCC’s serial ports are addressable in two modes: block

mode, and COM mode (see Hardware Information). The 232PC2 is
addressable in either mode from Windows 95/98. To change the
hardware configuration of the 232PCC2, follow the instructions
below.

1. Double click the My Computer icon located on the Windows

95/98 desktop.

2. Double click on the Control Panel icon.

3. Double click the System icon inside the Control Panel folder.

This will open the System Properties box.

4. Click

the

Device Manager tab located along the top of the

System Properties box.

5. The 232PCC2 appears as a DSP-100 parent device and is

listed as a Quatech Inc-PCMCIA Dual RS-232 Serial Port Card.
Click on the 232PCC2 item and then click on the button labeled
"Properties". Then click the Resources tab to view the Input/
Output Range and Interrupt Request resource allocations.

6. Several predefined Basic Configurations have been included for

the 232PCC2. The table below defines the various
configurations. When the Use Automatic Settings check box is
enabled Windows 95/98 will attempt to configure the 232PCC2
in the order listed.
