Installation Technical Advisory
Katun Organic Photoconductor (OPC) Drum
for use in the following Ricoh Aficio model series:
340/350/355/450/455/1035/1045/2035/2045/3035/3045/MP 3500/MP 4500
Digital Copier/Printers (DC/Ps )
For this Katun digital OPC Drum to provide optimum performance, it is important to perform the
following installation and OEM-recommended initialization procedures.
1. Manually rotate the OPC drum to ensure the drum is properly set in the machine.
2. Enter the service program (SP) mode by pressing the following keys in sequence:
• Clear modes/Energy Saver
• 1
• 0
• 7
• Clear/stop mode (hold down for more than 3 seconds)
3. Ensure charge roller voltage supply is set at the standard value (SP2-001-1).
• Set to 1620v for Aficio 340/350/355/450/455 series DC/Ps.
• Set to 1480v for Aficio 1035/1045 series DC/Ps.
• Set to 1450v for Aficio 2035/2045 series DC/Ps.
• Set to 1500v for Aficio 3035/3045/MP 3500/MP 4500 series DC/Ps.
4. Perform ID Sensor Initial Setting procedure (SP3-001-2).
5. Perform developer initialization (SP2-805).
When installing drum in AP 4500/AP 4510/SP 8100 series printer models, reference the
respective OEM service manual for the OEM recommended drum initialization procedure.
