2.1.2 Structure of the »IPC Backup & Restore«
»IPC Backup & Restore« is composed of two components:
 »IPC Backup & Restore« on the engineering PC under Windows® XP,
 »IPC Backup & Restore« on the IPC under Windows® CE.
The contents of this documentation refer to the use of the »IPC Backup & Restore« on the
engineering PC.
 Further information on the use of the »IPC Backup & Restore« under Windows® CE can
be found in the documentation for the
industrial PC in the section »IPC Backup & Restore«.
Version Function
Fixed Disk(non removable) • The CF card can be used like a hard disk.
• Partitioning and formatting is possible.
Removable Disk • The CF card can be formatted, but partitioning is not possible.
Ultra direct memory access (UDMA) Ultra direct memory access
• provides direct and quicker data access to the contents of the CF card.
• can only be used if the hardware supports ultra direct memory access.
