OPERATIONS

SECTION 1

LIFTING PROCEDURES

The following procedures describe proper lifting techniques for screed. There is no OSHA standard weight limit for manual lifting.
Therefore, rather than stating a regulated limit, they ask that employers or contractors do the following:

A) Identify each hazard to which a person at the work place (jobsite) is likely to be exposed to

B) Assess the risk of injury or harm to a person resulting from each hazard

C) Consider the means by which the risk may be reduced.

NOTE: Never lift more than what you personally feel that you can handle. The lifting handles at each end of the screed are not intended
to be used as the only source to lift the screed. It is quite obvious that two large men will not be able to lift 70 feet of screed. Do not
exceed 65 feet when using the Marshalltown Truss Screed.
