Power-On Self Test Message Continued
Message Beeps* Probable Cause Recommended Action
Flashing Caps Lock 1L, 2S Video controller is not present or
is incorrectly initialized.
1. Clear CMOS.
2. If video card has
been added,
remove and reseat.
Flashing Scroll Lock 2L, 1S System board hardware failure
(prior to video)
Replace the system
board.
* L = Long, S = Short
NOTE: If you have replaced the standard keyboard with a Universal Serial Bus (USB)
keyboard, you will hear the beep sequences for these error codes but will not see the flashing
lights.
