Troubleshooting
7. Once a section of the loop has been deter mined to be leak free, go to the
next fitting downstream of the point of the previous check and repeat the
previous procedure starting at step 3 above. When the end of the loop has
been reached by the previous sequential troubleshooting procedure, this
check can be considered completed. For reference, the end of the loop is the
point where, in the initial leak checking procedure, the Leak Checker gauge
was placed.
8. Once the task has been completed and all leaks eliminated, close the
instrument up and return it to use.
Other Pneumatic Issues
Three other general categories of problems (aside from leaks) are occasionally
encountered in the pneumatic system in the Dynacalibrator. In order of
likelihood they are:
Main pump diaphragm(s) worn out
These elastomeric diaphragms are rated for more than 10,000 hours continu-
ous operation at the output pressure used in the Dynacalibrator; however,
they must occasionally be re placed.
Line filter(s) clogged
This problem tends to occur whenever the air or gas being drawn into the
Dynacalibrator has a heavy particulate loading (dust). To see if the filter is
clogged, unscrew the filter bowl, remove the filter cartridge, and replace the
bowl. If this eliminates the problem, then the filter needs cleaning. To clean
a filter, follow the directions in the maintenance section.
