IRON IN FAB RIC DE TEC TION
1.
Place one drop of the *Hydrochloric Acid (6381) on the fabric.
2. Place one drop of the *Ferric Iron Test Solution (5116) on top of
the drop of *Hydrochloric Acid.
3. An orange or red color will develop immediately if iron is present.
CAUTION:
Rinse the test area of the fabric immediately after
testing since reagents are strongly acidic and could cause future
damage to the fabric.
pH OF FAB RIC
1.
In an inconspicuous area of the fabric place two drops of the *Wide
Range Indicator (2338).
2. Observe the color developed and compare it with the chart on the
bottle.
