INTERRUPTED FIRMWARE UPDATE RECOVERY

If firmware programming was interrupted (such as by a power loss or an accidental cable disconnection), the CHAT 160
might become unstable. The CHAT 160 software will boot into a generic mode and the Generic Mode screen will be
displayed.

To perform the firmware update, read and follow the on-screen instructions then click the Update Firmware button (see
the Update Firmware & Database section in Chapter 3 for detailed instructions). The messages “Initializing” and
“Recovering” appear above the progress bar, followed by the typical messages that appear during a firmware update.
The update then continues to completion.
If the CHAT 160 attempts to recover from a programming error by booting up in the Generic (dfU) mode, a series of
instruction windows will be displayed. follow the on-screen instructions to resolve this issue.
