9. Securely tighten the cable grip fittings and replace the
enclosure cover. Make sure the cover properly aligns with the
gasket and that all screws are tightened equally (i.e., snug but
not over-tightened).
Converting Battery-Powered Equipment to
Receive External Power
For existing battery-powered EMUs (ADS p/n 3800-0148) and
FlowShark IS monitors, modifications can be made to the EMU
enclosure to support connection to an external power source.
Note:
Disconnect and remove the battery packs from both
the monitor and EMU prior to powering the system from
an external source.
ADS offers a kit (p/n 3800-0181) for converting battery-powered
EMUs to receive external power. This kit contains all the cabling,
hardware, and instructions necessary for performing the retrofit.
ADS also offers a power supply (p/n 5000-0727) for powering the
EMU. However, an alternate DC power supply may be used
provided it meets the specifications indicated in DC Power
Requirements
on page 5-2.
