Testing the Drives
Without connecting the drive to the computer, plug in the power cable
and turn the drive on using the main power switch on the front of the case.
The Green Power LED on the case should come on immediately.
Next use one of the keys that are supplied with the system and lock the
tray in place. This also turns on the power to the drive mechanism and the
Green Drive Power LED should some on. The key acts as an on/off switch
and is what will normally be used to turn the drive power on and off. The
main power switch in the rear should only be turned off if you are going to
move the drive, otherwise simply leave it turned on for normal use. The
power consumption is minimal even with the main power switch on.
Finally if both green power LED’s turn on you can go ahead and plug the
data cable into the back of the enclosure and connect it to the computer.
