To download and install JSUM:
1. Go to http://www.jeppesen.com/jsum/download and save the installer
on your hard drive.
2. When the download is finished, minimize or close all
browser window(s).
3. Navigate to the destination directory, and double-click
JeppesenServicesSetup.exe.
4. When the Jeppesen Services Setup Welcome window appears, click Next.
5. If the installer detects Skybound NDT, Skybound USB, or the DataLoader,
they appear in a list of applications that must be uninstalled. Click Next
and follow the prompts to uninstall the given programs. Uninstalling
JeppView for the MX20 is optional.
6. Read the software license agreement and accept the terms. Click Next.
7. Select the path to install JSUM and click Next. It is recommended that
you use the default folder or a location where other Jeppesen programs
have been installed. If you use a different drive or folder, click
Change,
then type the path or browse to the directory (folder) chosen.
8. Select a program folder and click Next.
9. If necessary, click ContinueAnyway when the Software Installation
dialog box appears (Windows XP) or click Installthisdriversoftware
anyway in the Windows Security dialog box (Windows Vista and
Windows 7).
10. After the program files install, select the JeppesenServicesshortcut
on the desktop check box, and then click Next.
11. Click Finish.
Installation Procedures
Before installing the software, you must have administrative permissions
on your computer otherwise the software will not install. The following
procedures outline the installation process for the Jeppesen Services Update
Manager which will assist in programming terminal charts for use in
multi-function displays, and the NavSuite applications.
Administrative Permissions
Before installing NavSuite, verify the permissions are set that individual
users have access to the full use of the products. Administrative permissions
are required for the initial installation and any program updates that might
be available electronically or with the disc update. When the navigational
data and terminal chart data are updated, the user does not require
administrative permissions. If you are trying to install the applications
on a corporate computer, please contact your network administrator for
administrative permission.
Installing the Jeppesen Services Update Manager
(Multi-function Displays users only)
Before installing the NavSuite programs, you must install the Jeppesen
Services Update Manager (JSUM) first. JSUM is used to assist in transferring
the electronic chart data to the media used with your MFD system.
JSUM replaces Skybound USB, Skybound NavData Delivery Tool (NDT), and
the Jeppesen DataLoader. JSUM will not continue with the installation unless
these programs are removed. The installer will guide you through the
uninstall process if these programs are detected. If the JSUM installer detects
JeppView for the MX20, you will be given the option to uninstall it. It is
strongly recommended you uninstall JeppView for the MX20 to avoid
future problems.
