Remove any installed module from the module bay.

Remove the hard drive (see page 111).

Memory

You can increase your computer memory by installing memory modules on the system board. See
"Specifications" on page 144 for information on the memory supported by your computer. Install
only memory modules that are intended for your computer.

CAUTION:

Before you begin this procedure, read the safety instructions at the front of this document

(see page 11).

NOTICE:

To avoid damaging the system board, you must remove the main battery before you begin

working inside the computer (see page 52).

NOTE:

Memory modules purchased from Dell are covered under your computer warranty.

NOTE:

This computer requires matched memory modules and therefore always has two identical

memory modules.

Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" (see page 103).

Turn the computer over, unscrew the captive screw labeled "M", and remove the memory
module cover.
