Click the Settings tab (see Figure 5-1).

Point the cursor at the slidebar in the Screen area. Then click and hold down the
left button.

Move the slidebar to the left to decrease the resolution or to the right to increase
the resolution.

NOTE: As the resolution increases, icons and text appear smaller on the screen.

Click Apply.

A dialog box informs you that the process may take 15 seconds and that the
screen may flicker while the resolution is changed.

7.

Click OK and then Yes to accept the new setting.

8.

In the Colors box, choose the number of colors from the menu provided.

NOTES: Your computer's active-matrix extended graphics array (XGA) display supports
a video resolution of 1024 x 768 and 16 million colors.

The video drivers Dell installed for you are designed to offer the best performance on
the computer. It is recommended that you use only these drivers with your factory-
installed operating system.
