Replacing the Processor Heat-Sink

Procedure

1

Align the captive screws on the processor heat-sink with the screw holes on the
system board.

2

In sequential order (indicated on the processor heat-sink), tighten the captive
screws that secure the processor heat-sink to the system board.

Postrequisites

1

Follow the instructions from step 4 to step 7 in "Replacing the System Board" on
page 102.

Replace the fan. See "Replacing the Fan" on page 64.

Replace the speakers. See "Replacing the Speakers" on page 68.

Follow the instructions from step 5 to step 8 in "Replacing the Hard Drive" on
page 38.

Follow the instructions from step 4 to step 5 in "Replacing the Optical Drive" on
page 42.

Replace the memory module(s). See "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 32.

Replace the palm rest. See "Replacing the Palm Rest" on page 48.
