To ensure a clear picture, clean the video heads periodically

Clean ihe video heads with the Sony V8-2SCI-H cleamng cassette (not supplied) referring to the
instruciions supplied with it.

Video Head Replacement

When playbacK pictures are not clear even after using the cleaning cassette, me video head may be

damaged. II this happens, the video head needs to be replaced with a new one. Consult your Sony

service facility tor replacing the video head.

If this unit IS brought directly from a cold place to a warm place, moisture may condense msde the unit or
on the surface of the tape, if this happens. Ihe tape may siicK to the head drum, damaging both the tape

and me unit. Although this unit is furnished with a moisture sensor to prevent possible damage from
condensation, it cannot prevent damage if a tape is left inside the unit. R is best to remove the lape if you
are not using Ihe unit

If moisture condenses inside the unit

A buiit-in lignting system is installed inside the liquid crystal screen ol this unit. Eventually the small

ifuorescertt tube used for this bui(t-irt itghtmg system wears out. ff the tube becomes drm or goes off

immediately aRar you lum on the unit, even with new Oattenes, replace me tube with a new one. To

replace the tube, cortsull the dealer where you purchased the unit, or a Sony service facility. The expected
life cf me small fluorescent tube is about three years if this unit is used for ah hour each day. Whan you
use this unit in a cold environment, the fluorescent tube will be dimmer at first. As soon as the temperafure
of the tube nses, it will regain its onginal bnghtness.
