Example
This example illustrates how to use the DERVX coiumand to differentiate
an expression and to use the EXPAND command to simplify the result.
1. Open Equation Writer and create the
expression.
2. Select the expression.
3.
Open the Calculus conunand list, select
DERIV & INTEG
and highlight the DERVX
command.
4.
Apply the command to the selection. Note
that as DERVX is a function, it does not
differentiate the expression immediately.

5. Differentiate the expression.

Use the EXPAND conunand from the
Algebra choose list to simplify the result.
Note that, as EXPAND is a command, it
expands the expression inunediately.
