POWER SUPPLY

The appliance must only be connected to mains electricity of 220-240 V and 50 Hz. Always
ensure the mains voltage where you’re using the appliance corresponds to the value shown on
the nameplate of the appliance.

USING OF APPLIANCE

• Unpack the appliance and remove all the packing materials.

• Carefully check the appliance to ensure it is complete and undamaged. You should only use

the appliance if it is complete and has not suffered any damage.

Use as a hand mixer

1. Insert attachments to be used into holders so that double pins at stem sides are caught by guiding

grooves of holders. When using kneading attachments, insert the brimmed attachment into the
marked holder. Further to this, push attachments into the holders until stopped. It is very important
to correctly position the holder grooves and attachment stems to each other, otherwise the attach-
ments will not be caught and the device can be damaged. Damage and break of holders resulting
from being forced shall be qualified as improper use. Check proper fixation of attachments before
plugging the device to electric network.

Both kneading and foaming attachments shall only be attached to the hand mixer by pairs (it is strictly

prohibited to attempt a combined attachment of a kneading attachment with a foaming one).

2. Please check that the speed selector switch is in the OFF (0) position before plugging in the

appliance. Turn on the hand mixer with the gear control switch and then set the required
speed. You may select this from five different settings. Press the TURBO button to operate the
appliance at maximum speed.

Attention!
The SHM-282 type hand mixer with bowl is designed for intermittent use. It is essen-
tial to pause for 20 minutes after an absolute maximum of four minutes’ operation.
When mixing denser than average ingredients, or kneading dough, the operation time
should be reduced and the pause increased by a few minutes. During pause periods
the appliance should be unplugged from the mains. Failure to observe these provisions
for pauses may damage the appliance and shall be considered improper operation.

3. After use, disconnect the hand mixer from the mains. Pressing the release button will release

the attachments; they can then be removed from the sockets.

Notes for using the attachments

• Use the kneading hooks for mixing denser consistencies such as raised pie or minced meat

with spices.

• Use the beater (whipping whisk) for mixing lighter consistencies such as blended pie,

different creams and puddings. This tool attachment can also be used to whip egg whites,
make mashed potatoes, blend mayonnaise, etc.

Recommendations for speed settings:

• When mixing thick consistency mixtures select higher speeds (speed 4 and 5). For dough

mixing that needs a longer period, use speeds 3 and 4.

• When using the beater (whisk) attachments start at speed 1 and if necessary increase the

speed. For frothing egg whites apply the highest speed (5).

• If you wish to operate the unit for a short time, press the TURBO button (control no.12).

TURBO operates the device at full speed and works only whilst the button is depressed.

• Note: it is recommended to pour cold or lukewarm water in a dish and run the used atta-

chment at speed 4 or 5 for a short while in the water. This removes processed food residues
from the attachment.

Use with stand

When first using the appliance mount the liftable holder on the stand (stand-joint). For this
align the tabs located on the horizontal appliance holder with the notches on the stand, and
then carefully press it downward, until the tabs lock into place.

1. Place the stand on a stable, flat non-slip surface.

2. Insert the basic attachment on the stand’s appliance holder which is folded down.

3. Fold back the appliance holder by pressing the appliance interlock button, and then insert
