DIGITAL CONTROLLERS

SP 22D / SP 22Ds

The processor is equipped with two XLR balanced signal inputs designated

; these inputs correspond to two

outputs in

parallel to the inputs.

: switch to isolate the chassis ground and the signal ground to avoid ground loops, which can cause hum problems.

: selector to choose the processor operating mode.

Stereo: channels Ch1 andCh2arecompletely independent.

Parallel: in thismodetheprocessor accepts only an input on Ch1, which drives both the outputs.

Bridge: input only on Ch1 with 180 degree phase difference on the outputs; connect the speaker to the amplifier bridge output.
Biamp (only SP 22D): input only on Ch1; connect amplifier output Ch1 to the woofer (LF) and output Ch2 to the tweeter (HF). In this mode the speaker

crossover

set to BI-AMPmode.

On QUBE amplifiers the output of both channels can be connected by means of a 4-core cable directly from the CH1 Speakon, which carries LF on 1+ / 1- and

HF on 2+ / 2-.

: the first of these 4 dipswitches provides different functions for the two processors; on the SP 22D unit this dipswitch is designated SUB and when

set to the down position (ON) it activates a HI-PASS filter at approximately 100Hz-24dB/oct on both channels. To be used when the system is equipped with a

subwoofer with relative SP 22Ds processor.WhensettoOFFthesystemoperatesinfull-rangemodewithexclusively a subsonic filter.
On the SP 22Ds the first dipswitch is designated PHASE and when set to the down position (ON) both outputs feature a phase difference of 180 degrees with

respect to the input.

Thismaybeusefultooffset possible phase inversions on the cables or tomaximise the acoustic efficiency of SUB+SAT in the crossover zone.

The other three dipswitches (shared by both processors) designated SPKR SELECTOR serve to select themodel of speaker utilised.
Selection of the speaker model is important because the processor parameters are calibrated in relation to eachQUBE speaker system model.

Figures 1 and 2 show a list of the speakers utilisablewith each processor.

must be

N.B. the use of a speaker other than the one set on the SP 22D processor may cause irreversible damage to the speaker and significant worsening

of sound reproduction performance.

METERS DELAY (6): the eight dipswitches control a digital delay line on both channels; this means that it is possible to compensate for misalignment of

subwoofers and satellites on the vertical plane or create distributed lines of speakers whose sound reaches the listening point at the same time, thereby

avoiding undesirable echoes.

The delay time is defined in metres from 0.125 to 31.875 in 12.5cm steps.
E.g.: to set a 18.625 m delay set the following dipswitches to the down position: no.1 (16m), no.4 (2m), no. 6 (0.5m) and no.8 (0.125m), for a total of

16+2+0.5+0.125 = 18.625m.

WARNING:

It is advisable to work with amplifier volume from between half to full power.

always switch off the amplifier:

The processor affects the signal up-line from the volume control, so reducing the amplifier volume excessively leads to the risk of overloading the SP 22D
input before bringing the amplifier up to full power.

Before adjusting the MODE and SPKR SELECTOR controls

high intensity signals may be produced while new data are

being downloaded to the memory, with the consequent risk of damaging the speakers.
